Text Box: Silène Bricet is a fully qualified and registered acupuncturist and massage therapist. Silène holds a Bsc (HONS) degree and has gone through extensive trainings including studies of scientific and medically orientated subjects such as physiology, pathology, anatomy. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, she observes a strict code of practice which lays down stringent standards of hygiene and sterilization. These procedures have been approved by the Department of Health. She also worked for 16 months at the Gateway clinic, a NHS-funded clinic run by highly experienced practitioners, and widely recognised for its pioneering work in HIV. Silene now runs The Alternative Care since 2007 and practice in Southfields, Oval (near Brixton and Vauxhall) and Streatham.
